Fusing experimental electronic music with a passion for the transformative power of the live experience, Rhythmstar transports listeners deep inside complex, enigmatic, bassline rituals. After illuminating the Hawaiian Islands with his musical explorations for the past ten years, this Los Angeles native is home on the West Coast and ready to ignite dance floors with his ecstatic, bass-saturated beats. Rhythmstar mixes a potent elixir of future soul music, laden with deep subsonic frequencies, and driving polyrhythmic percussion. Rhythmstar’s sound is an elegant mix of bass music genres: cinematic midtempo, seductive moombahton, melodic dubstep, effervescent glitch, liquid drum and bass, and psychedelic hip hop.
A passionate live performer , Rhythmstar has an intuitive ability to connect with both the body and the spirit, and create rich emotional depth while simultaneously shaking a dancefloor to its core. He deconstructs and redesigns original tracks on the fly, to make every set a completely unique experience, and is best known for fiercely blending tracks, and brilliantly expressing his music- as a healing, medicinal art, that connects the dance with the divine.
Rhythmstar is no newcomer to the global electronic community. A powerful player on the Hawaiian Islands, written up by the Hawaii Tribune as the island’s number 1 DJ, He successfully co-produced the infamous Big Island Full Moon parties on remote beaches and on top of the flowing lava of the volcano Kilauea, as well as headlining the Hawaiian Electronic Music Festival for five consecutive years. Recently, he delivered ravishing performances at the Alchemeyez Visionary Arts Congress, playing on the mainstage, precibal to Android Jones’s Phadroid project. Rhythmstar has also shared the stage with some of bass music’s legends, including friends- Lorin Bassnectar, David Starfire, and FreqNasty to name a few. This winter, Rhythmstar returns to the Islands to perform beside- Random Rab, Bluetech, Nikodemus, Shakti Dance Movement and Beats Antique in Oahu.
Rhythmstar’s first two original tracks can be found on Acropolis RPM’s Beat Sculptors compilation, available exclusively on Beatport. The future months hold the release of 2 brand new records. The “Sacred Bass EP”- a multidimensional genre-bending amorphous banger, comprised of the tracks “Realeyez” and Transphorma” for Substruk Records. Early 2012 also sees the release of “Romantique”- a future garage bellydance hybrid, that mixes a slithering digital romanticism with an umbra of antique mystery, forthcoming on Dub Animals Recordings. Both records will be available on all major Digital Distributors including Addictech,Juno Downloads, Itunes and Beatport.
Regarded as a rising star and one to watch in the forward thinking beat scene for 2012, this subsonic sound surfer, celebrates music as fundamental to revolutionary change, as he composes electronic journeys of block-rocking bass that continually, heal, inspire, and of course – twist the dance floor inside out.
