Here’s some great modern bellydance music from a member of the USA/Israeli band, Balkan Beat Box who in their own words, “make connections that politics often keep separate. Jewish, Gypsy, Arabic, and American are united by hip hop beats and dancehall toasts”.
I got this cut from Sabbo’s great NOIZ IN ZION blog, which I’m pretty sure he also posted on the MAD DECENT blog not so long ago.
Whilst we’re on Balkan Beat Box, here’s also a remix of theirs by SOULICO.
Those of you into BALKAN FLAVA’S will already be aware of the important role KLEZMER music has played within that scene.
I won’t go into the detail about that but leave it to the experts and so you can do your own research on that front.
So, I thought it would only be right to include at least one Klezmer-ish type of tune as part of the Israeli posts for this week.
